Architectural brass knobs and such hardware And Their Antique Reproductions.

Architectural hardware is salvaged from old buildings and sold for a profit to meet the needs of current projects.  Hardware such as brass door handles, hand forged iron hardware, bronze cabinet hardware and even antique bath tubs are recovered for use. Vintage architectural salvage is a big business and give the home a distinctive and unique look. Period hardware and salvaged antique brass knobs or handles are  a good way to decorate and give the home or place a specific look.

Period hardware refers to handmade hardware that was found in the 70s (or even earlier when sandcasting was prevalent). These bronze knobs, brass door handles and antique decorative  hardware pieces  are hard to come by, so there are companies that deal exclusively with antique reproductions of these period pieces.

There are a lot of companies that are in the business of dealing with antique salvaged hardware like the Olde Good Things, Los Angeles and West Roxbury Historical Society, Boston, MA which deals with art deco  or art noveau hardware. It is not necessary that these pieces be used in only Colonial or Victorian homes, they also suit modern homes and or hotels and other buildings that are out to make a statement with their interiors.
