Designing and planning a small kitchen

Any kitchen that is less than 150sq feet is defined as a small kitchen according to the National Kitchen and Bath Association. Designing such a space is easy with some of these tips. whether it  is a storage problem or small appliances there is a solution to fit your small kitchen space. Cabinet hardware is probably a big choice in small kitchens. The cabinets might make the place  look big if they were made out of glass and not really heavy wood. The hardware that goes on will be better if they were small and elegant with varied patterns like fruit and vegetables and not in the traditional metal design but a more modern or practical, ceramic, gemstone or
even acrylic knobs, handles and pulls. If you want to give the decor and aged but grand look then you might consider adding some antique reproduction glass hardware to it.

The Carol Beachs  collection has jewel hardware, colored metal knobs and pulls and circo colored resin knobs. Another company called Amerock is also a place to search for unique cabinet hardware. Lighting and the layout of the tiles in the kitchen are also important since they will make the  space look large. Light colors and bright lights are a good way to turn this small space around.

Large appliances are impractical in small spaces so look for space saver ovens, refrigerators and stoves. Finally an island in the middle of the kitchen is good table space and also a nice storage area. Put a granite slab on the kitchen island to give it a fancy look.
